Students taking an exam

Finals week is January 16-18, 2024. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the MHS Finals Week schedule.

All students received this slide deck about HS Finals during Advisory.

The following information was emailed to students and families on January 4. Click here to read the email.

Students will have two finals each day with opportunities to study during the morning Study Hall and during the Advisory/Lunch period in the middle of the day.  Students are not required to be in the building during the morning Study Hall (8:00am to 9:25am) but are expected to be in the building from 9:30am to 2:30pm each day.

  • Students will eat lunch with their Advisory, which may be different from the lunch assignment they had the rest of the semester. The Finals Week Lunch Schedule is available here.

  • Despite the adjusted schedule and flexibility to come in later in the morning, Mahtomedi High School does not have an open campus, including during our lunch periods.

  • For the safety and security of the building and to limit disruptions to our office, students should not be ordering food or beverages to be delivered to the building.  School Lunch and Breakfast is free to all Mahtomedi HS students.

  • Breakfast will be served during the normal hours of 7:30-8:00am.  2nd Chance lunch will not be served during Finals Week.

  • To ensure an academic environment free of interruptions, students' coming and going should be kept to a minimum. Any unavoidable, early or late dismissals must be submitted by a parent or guardian, using the MHS Online Attendance Form, no later than 9am, on the day of the scheduled absence.

  • Reminder: all students, including students who are 18, may not complete their own online attendance form.

  • If you take classes outside of the building, you must arrive/leave at the beginning or end of the MHS adjusted scheduled class time. PSEO students should remember to talk to your non-MHS instructors about your adjusted class times and work to find solutions for class conflicts.  Students enrolled at 916 should be anticipating an email from Ms. Cole.

  • Students are expected to park in their designated parking lot during finals week.

  • This information will be shared with students during Advisory on Friday, January 5

Please encourage your student to reach out to a staff member if they have any questions about the schedule or their final assessments.
