Mahtomedi Public Schools operates a Device for Every Learner program, allowing all students to access a device to enhance learning. Students in grades 3 through 12 are assigned a district-issued Chromebook to use during the school year. Please Note: We do not have a waived first offense for damage. If a student doesn't have the Optional Chromebook Protection Plan and gets any damage (ie cracked screen, missing keys on the keyboard) there will be a $50 fee and any other offenses will be 100% of the repair cost.
To help families with accidental damages and incidents, the district has created an Optional Chromebook Protection Plan. The 2023-24 Optional Chromebook Protection Plan provides coverage for accidental damage including, but not limited to cracked screens, broken/lost keys, cracks in the device casing, port damage, webcam damage, liquid damage, and mousepad damage. The annual cost to enroll is $20 per device with a family cap of $60.

Sign Up Deadline: September 15th Enrollment in the Protection Plan for Chromebooks will be provided by the school district for families that qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Click here for more information about free and reduced lunch benefits and directions for applying.

Coverage is for the district issued Chromebook (not district issued iPads).
There is a family cap for the cost of the Optional Chromebook Protection Plan of $60. For example, if you have four children, the max payment is $60, and ALL children are covered in the Optional Chromebook Protection Plan for your family.
The Chromebook Protection Plan does not cover lost or stolen Chromebooks, intentional damage, or tampering. It also does not cover stolen, lost, or damaged power adapters.
